Retreat philosophy

This Retreat Is About Doing Less—More Mindfully

This is not an intensive yoga programme. The experience follows a slower arc: gentle movement prepares the body, conscious breath settles attention, sound encourages receptive stillness, massage supports physical relaxation, and unscheduled time lets the day land naturally.

Spaciousness is not an empty part of the timetable—it is part of the retreat. Every day protects time for the pool, reading, journaling, exploring Ubud, taking a nap or simply doing nothing.

Gentle practices, clearly explained

Yoga Without the Rush. Breath Without Pressure.

Restorative Yoga

Yoga Without the Rush

This retreat feels different from Vinyasa or intensive yoga programmes. Movement is slow, postures can be supported, transitions are conscious, and relaxation receives as much importance as the shapes themselves.

You do not need to be flexible, experienced or physically advanced. Teachers can offer accessible options for complete beginners while experienced practitioners explore a quieter way of practising.

  • Supported Asana
  • Gentle Mobility
  • Slow Transitions
  • Body Awareness
  • Longer Relaxation

Breathwork

Come Back to Your Breath

Breathwork is a major part of the journey, with morning preparation, guided learning sessions and slower evening practices. The aim is simple awareness and usable techniques—not forceful breathing or competition.

  • MorningAwareness and gentle preparation for the day.
  • GuidedSimple practices guests can continue at home.
  • EveningSlower breathing before relaxation and rest.
  • Diaphragmatic Breath
  • Nadi Shodhana
  • Extended Exhalation
  • Gentle Pranayama

Practice care: Tell the teacher about pregnancy, recent surgery, respiratory or cardiovascular conditions, dizziness, anxiety triggers or other relevant concerns before Breathwork or yoga.

Sound Healing with singing bowls at Bali Yoga School Ubud

Premium sound experience

Rest Through Sound

Sound Healing becomes a natural extension of the retreat’s slower rhythm. Guests are invited to listen rather than achieve, rest rather than analyse, and leave silence around each experience.

  • ReceiveGuided Sound Healing experience.
  • RestExtended sound relaxation.
  • IntegrateSilence and reflection afterwards.

Sound sessions are educational, contemplative and relaxation-based wellness experiences. They do not diagnose or treat medical or mental-health conditions.
